Brittany Abel is concentrating in General Biology and plans on going to medical school after graduation and volunteering with Americorps. She is a member of the Touchtones a cappella group, PATCH, AED pre-med honor society, and works with the Salvation Army and the Ithaca Youth Bureau. She also works in the Bowman Lab. For fun, she loves to read fiction novels, sing, and play the piano as stress relief. Her favorite classes are SPAN 3110, BIOMG 2911, and CHEM 3580. This summer, Brittany volunteered at a hospital and interned at a family health center, maintaining a community garden and teaching kids about good nutrition. She says, "Do what you love and you will succeed!"

This summer, he will be going back to Connecticut to do research in a clinical engineering lab and to co-lead a college preparatory program for inner city middle school and high school minority students. Dianne Vernon is a junior in CALS. She plans to either go to medical school or find a way to combine biology and business in a career.
