Christina Mendoza '19

Christina plans to pursue an MD/PhD degree after graduation. At Cornell, Christina is involved in Biology Scholars Program, the Cornell Filipino Association, Scientista, and FemSTEM mentoring. Christina does research in neurobiology in the Hu Lab. Her favorite class is BIOEE 1780 because the interactive learning method was very engaging and she had the opportunity to go to the Galapagos Islands to further study evolution up close and personal. For fun, Christina likes to bowl at Helen Newman for the Cornell Club Bowling team and play with the Club Badminton team. This summer, she is doing research on Alzheimer’s Disease at the University of Cambridge in the U.K., where she is excited to go sight-seeing as well! Her advice to new students: “Going from high school to college can be overwhelming, so know that you will always have a unique support system through the Student Advisors. We’ve been in your shoes, and we’re here to help.”
