Emma Rosenbaum ’22

Emma is concentrating Animal Physiology with plans to attend veterinary school after graduation. On campus, she volunteers at the Tompkins County SPCA animal shelter, is a senior editor at the Cornell Daily Sun editorial board, and is a Big Red Athletics tutor, tutoring student athletes in various courses. She is also involved in research on campus with Dr. Betty McGuire, who studies the behaviors of shelter dogs and her research is done at the SPCA of Tompkins County. To relax, Emma likes to read, bake, and go on walks around Ithaca. Her favorite class is BIOEE 1781: Introduction to Evolution and Diversity. Last summer, Emma volunteered at another vet clinic and at a barn near her to gain animal experience hours for vet school. Fun fact: She is also doing a minor in science communication! She is looking forward to BioFest this school year! Emma’s advice for incoming freshmen: “Don't think you need to take all of the hard/rigorous classes in your first few semesters, you have time to spread them out throughout your four years, and you'll be much happier for it.”
