Philip Lee ’22

Philip is concentrating in Computational Biology with plans to gain more clinical research experience through Weill Cornell Medicine or the CDC as a clinical research assistant. Afterwards, he aims to go to graduate school and pursue a career in medicine. On campus, he is a contributing writer for the Cornell Healthcare Review, a member of the Cornell Rowing Club, and a Peer Mentor for the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board Peer Mentorship Program. He is also involved in PATCH and Cornell Minds Matter. Philip has also spent two years at the Song Lab in the College of Veterinary Medicine studying Salmonella typhi and protein chemistry. He is a self-declared foodie and loves to go around to local restaurants and cafes in his free time to find the best eats in the Ithaca community. His favorite class is CHEM 3580: Organic Chemistry II because he likes to draw hexagons. Last summer, Philip was involved in a summer research program on campus as well as a virtual summer research program. He looks forward to the Pre-Health and Research advising events this coming academic year! He can’t wait to be a Student Advisor, and his email address is always open to anyone who has questions. Philip's advice for incoming students: “It's so important to build a support network for when times get tough during the semester. Having a group of Cornellians (or friends outside of Cornell) who you can talk to and de-stress with is so vital for your mental health during prelims and finals. The friends I met (both under and upperclassmen), who have been my support network throughout these years, have helped me immensely and I think it's so important to have that coming into Cornell so that you aren't overwhelmed with stress during the semester.”
