We are interested in how animals develop, evolve and form new species. We use a variety of techniques including genetics, developmental biology and molecular evolution. Most of our research is done with Drosophila (fruit flies).

Research Activities in Which Undergraduates Participate:
Beginning students often work with Drosophila (fruit flies) performing genetic crosses and analysis. More advanced students often perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR and DNA sequencing.
